Three things that are supposed to fly in Chile; flamingos, Andean gulls and seagulls. And one that shouldn’t – a surfboard.
Flamingos in flight over Salar de Atacama in Chile.
Andean Gull in flight over Tatio Geysers in Chile.
I don’t want to be under them!
Sometimes even surfboards take flight!

Love all, but especially the large one with the pink (flamingos?) bird. Thanks for joining the challenge.
Yes Nancy, those are Andean Flamingos flying over the Salar de Atacama in Northern Chile. Sadly their numbers are dwindling because their habitat disappearing due to climate change and prolonged drought.
Lovely shots! Rare to see Flamingos in the US.
Thanks. One of the benefits of living in a foreign country is seeing the different wildlife.
OMG the flamingos are stunning!
They are incredible in flight. We have an entire series of them on the blog. Look for Nov. 2012.
